CME Flux Rope Simulations

Flux rope simulation

The TDm Flux Rope Designer was delivered and installed at the CCMC in 2021. It is now available for public use. The TDm Flux Rope Designer interface inserts a user-designed Titov-Demoulin (TDM) flux rope into the observed active region field of the model. The output drives the Magnetohydrodynamic Algorithm outside a Sphere (MAS) Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) model of flux rope evolution to simulated Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) eruption. Such simulations can be executed locally on CCMC high performance computing clusters or on the Pleiades Supercomputer.
