How Some Submissions are Updated

In the SEP Scoreboard's Intensity web application, there are a few SEP models that update or replace their predictions as new data arrives.

We note this in the SEP Scoreboard's Intensity time series legend by labeling the replaced predictions as 'old'.

Here is how we calculate this for the following models:

iPATH CME:

When a new model run for the same CME is performed, it supersedes all pervious models runs using that same CME.

iPATH Flare:

When a new model run for the same flare is performed, it supersedes all pervious models runs using that same flare.

SEPMOD:

When a new model run using the same CME(s), with or without additional CMEs, is issued.

Here's another way to say this:

If a new SEPMOD model run uses all the CME(s) (or more) of an older model run, then it effectively replaces the older model run.

SEPSTER and SEPSTER2D

When a new model run for the same CME is performed, it supersedes all pervious models runs using that same CME.
