About

The 9th CCMC Community Workshop will be held at The Hotel at the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland on April 23 - April 27, 2018.

Biennial CCMC community workshops are designed as opportunities for an in-depth exchange of experiences, opinions and needs between model owners, science and operational users, educators, agency representatives and the CCMC staff.

Registration

  • Early Bird registration deadline: March 2, 2018
  • Regular Registration Period: March 3 - March 23, 2018
  • Late Registration Period: March 24 - April 22, 2018
  • Registration Fee: $100/$150/$200 (early bird/regular/late)
  • Meals: A continental breakfast is provided each day, plus morning and afternoon coffee breaks (included with the registration fee). Participants will be on their own for lunch. See below for restaurant information.

  • The discounted group rate of $199 per night (plus applicable taxes) is available to workshop attendees. You must reserve your room no later than Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in order to receive the special rate.

  • If you prefer to make your room reservation over the phone, please call 301-277-0777 and mention the reservation ID 104678 (or identify yourself as part of the 9th CCMC Workshop) in order to receive the group rate.
  • Note: Cancellation of hotel reservation made using the group rate must be received 24 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid charges equal to one night's room fee plus taxes.

  • Parking: The hotel provides parking at a discounted rate of $10 per day for workshop guests staying at the hotel and $7 rate without in-and-out privileges for all other workshop attendees with the discount sticker (standard fee is $16). Discount stickers can be found at the workshop registration desk.
    • If you are staying at the hotel with a car and you have reserved your room with the group ID using the link above, the parking charge of $10 will appear on your hotel bill. The parking charge on your paid hotel bill will also serve as your parking payment receipt. You do have in-and-out privileges (you do not have to pay extra if you leave and come back).
    • If you are not staying at the hotel but you will use the hotel's parking garage: discount stickers at( $7 per day rate) are at the workshop registration desk. Affix the sticker to your parking ticket and pay at the pay station on the 1st floor closest to the workshop venue. You can also pay for parking using this ticket at the garage exit pay stations, which will give you a receipt. The sticker will give you the $10 discounted rate. There are no in-and-out privileges at the $7 discounted sticker rate, but you can receive a second sticker if you leave and come back (paying $7 each time). Note that the parking garage pay stations also have an hourly rate (not discounted) that starts at $7, so it is beneficial to use the discount sticker.
  • Metro: The hotel is located 1 mile (about 20 minutes walking distance) from the College Park Metro station (green line). The MARC train camden line also has a station located near the metro station. University Of Maryland provides free shuttle service to and from College Park Metro Station (see schedule and route info here).
  • Local transportation: Hotel guests can use the hotel's complimentary shuttle to the College Park Metro station and anywhere within a 3-mile radius. Visit the hotel's transportation page for more information
