This cygnet shows the simulation results for the solar windplasma flowing out from the sun [[Glossary/ solar wind]] plasmaa fourth state of matter where atoms are broken down into ions and separate electrons [[Glossary/plasma]] as generated by the Enlil model. Plotted are three cut planes: the equatorial cut plane out to 2 AU, the meridional (north south) cut plane through the plane that earth is in, and a radial surface at 1 AU. The color map shows density of the solar windplasma flowing out from the sun [[Glossary/ solar wind]] plasmaa fourth state of matter where atoms are broken down into ions and separate electrons [[Glossary/plasma]].

The Enlil model is a Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) model solves for the solar windplasma flowing out from the sun [[Glossary/ solar wind]] conditions through out the simulation volume. The Enlil simulation volume depicted in this cygnet starts at 30 solar radii (Rs), and goes out to 2 AU (about 400 Rs). It extends to +/-60 degrees in solar latitude, leaving out the high latitude solar regions. The color map here shows the plasmaa fourth state of matter where atoms are broken down into ions and separate electrons [[Glossary/plasma]] density.
