COSPAR-18-PSW.4: Interoperability of Space Weather Data Models, Data Holdings and Data Access Tools

With the growing volume of space weather data, awareness has grown concerning issues such as data discovery, availability and distribution. Of particular concern is the establishment and coherent use of standards for data models and metadata, without which data usage is very restricted. Several standards are already in use in the space weather community, e.g. SPASE and OGC. The use of different standards raises further issues about interoperability and compatibility. For this session, we invite submissions describing current or planned usage of data model standards from data providers, as well as contributions on standardised data access and exchange tools.

This session includes a discussion time slot, during which inputs and recommendations can be collected for Session PSW.5 on "Space Weather Initiatives and Coordinated International Efforts to implement COSPAR-ILWS Roadmap Recommendations". We encourage presenters to address these issues in their contributions.
