Model Description
We have recently upgraded CORHEL to V4.2. This version offers six possible model combinations and works with synoptic magnetograms from six different observatories.

V4.2 supports two Coronal models (MAS and a new CORHEL implementation of the Wang-Sheeley-Arge method). It supports two Heliospheric models, MAS and ENLIL. Either of the coronal models can be coupled with either of the heliospheric models.

In principle this enables 6 different model choices:

  1. MAS Corona only
  2. WSA Corona only
  3. MAS corona + ENLIL heliosphere
  4. MAS corona + MAS heliosphere
  5. WSA corona + ENLIL heliosphere
  6. WSA corona + MAS heliosphere
Currently the WSA component is in final testing and is not yet available. We will post an update when we are authorized to offer it to users, which we expect to happen shortly.

The six magnetogram sources available for use are:

  1. Kittpeak CR < 2008
  2. Solis CR > 2008
  3. Mt. Wilson Observatory
  4. GONG
  5. MDI
  6. Wilcox Solar Observatory
Each observatory offers a different range of Carrington rotation coverage.

We are working to modify our Runs-On-Request submission pages to reflect the new choices available in V4.2. Until this work is complete, any CORHEL requests should use the former MAS submission pages. Feel free to make entries into the forms as appropriate, and where you cannot make the correct entries, make arbitrary choices, and then provide all the correct details for your submission on the 'Special Comments' page that completes your request. Upon receipt of your request, we will email you to clarify your request.
